The rain has been really nice since we have had very little rain the past couple of years! Worst drought in 25 years. So, we are very excited to see the rain.
I finished piecing the 'Trick or Treat' quilt this morning and will prepare it for quilting over the next few days. Will post the finished quilt soon. The watermelon quilt, pictured above, is a small quilt that I recently finished. I 've had the pattern for a few years, and I was in a 'watermelon' mood this summer, so hence the quilt. The pattern is by Cabbage Rose, Barbara Brandeburg and the book is titled Company's Coming.
It's been a lot of fun reading your comments on my blog. Several different countries are represented and I love reading your blogs about what you are working on. A couple of blogs that I visited over the past few days are http://www.dorryvanbeers.blogspot.com/ from the Netherlands and http://www.linenandraspberry.blogspot.com/ from Australia. Take a look, they are really nice.
I also saw my first Harry Potter movie at the theater this week. I have seen #s 3,4,&5 on DVD, but I really enjoyed seeing the most recent one with my friend, Rhonda and my daughter. They are both Harry Potter fans and Rhonda and I share a mutual admiration for Alan Rickman so that was reason enough to go see the new one. I also recently saw the 'Dateline' program on J.K. Rowling where a reporter followed her for a year while she was writing the final Harry Potter book. Very insightful as she revisited many of the places where she had written some of the books.
I'm off to walk F.H. around the block. He's my bassett hound for those of you that haven't met him yet. Take some time to do something creative today........
A very cute quilt! Please share the designer's name!
ReplyDeleteI love the quilt! Very "summer-y" :)
ReplyDeleteI've only seen one HP movie and that was the first one. Not a big fan of the stories and sometimes the accent of the English actors is hard for me to understand. I did see the Dateline piece on JK Rowlings and thought she was a very unhappy person. I guess fame and fortune can't buy you everything.
I forgot to mention another blog you might enjoy: www.allmyscatteringmoments.blogspot.com. Check it out if you haven't already done so. :)
ReplyDeleteMary, I have added the info for the pattern on my original post. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI had seen on the news that Texas really needs rain. Hope you get what you need.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend. Love that watermelon quilt.
